  • Grants for income-qualified Bay Area residents to retire their older car and replace it with a hybrid, plug-in hybrid, battery, or hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle, or a pre-paid card to use for public transit and purchase e-bikes.

  • The CPRG program encourages GHG reduction measures that accelerate decarbonization across various sectors, including transportation, electric power, buildings, industry, waste management, and agriculture. It supports initiatives that achieve significant GHG reductions by 2030 and provide immediate benefits to communities. These measures can include electrification, renewable energy projects, transportation management programs, clean heat standards, energy efficiency improvements, and methane emission reduction strategies.

    Applications are due April 1, 2024 for the general competition and May 1, 2024 for the Tribes and territories competition.

  • EPA is accepting applications on a rolling basis for $2 billion in Inflation Reduction Act funding available to support community-driven projects that build capacity for communities to tackle environmental and climate justice challenges, strengthen their climate resilience, and advance clean energy.

    Track I applications – Community-Driven Investments for Change will focus on multi-faceted applications with Climate Action and Pollution Reduction Strategies to meaningfully improve the environmental, climate, and resilience conditions affecting disadvantaged communities.

    Track II applications – Meaningful Engagement for Equitable Governance will facilitate the engagement of disadvantaged communities in governmental processes to advance environmental and climate justice.

  • The California Energy Commission (CEC) announces the availability of up to $40,500,000 in grant funds for projects that will strategically deploy high-powered direct current fast charger (DCFC) electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure and establish an interconnected network to facilitate data collection, access, and reliability.

  • The purpose of the Charging Infrastructure for Government Fleets Solicitation is to:

    • Support electrification of government fleets in California by providing reliable and readily accessible electric vehicle charging infrastructure dedicated for these fleets.

  • The purpose of this solicitation is to fund technology demonstration and deployment projects that support the approved Electric Program Investment Charge 2021–2025 (EPIC 4) Investment Plan’s strategic objective to increase the value proposition of distributed energy resources to customers and the grid.   • The purpose of this solicitation is to provide funding for Tribes, Tribal Organizations, and Tribally-owned businesses for:

    • Project Activity 1 – EV Charging Infrastructure: installing charging infrastructure for passenger and medium- and heavy-duty (MDHD) EV charging equipment, supporting infrastructure, and associated resiliency technologies.

    • Project Activity 2 – EV Infrastructure Planning: activities to support tribal participation in future EV funding opportunities and to enable tribes to plan for EV adoption.

    • Project Activity 3 – EV Workforce Training and Development: activities that support careers in EVs, EV infrastructure, and EV-related technologies.

  • The Low or No Emission competitive program provides funding to state and local governmental authorities for the purchase or lease of zero-emission and low-emission transit buses as well as acquisition, construction, and leasing of required supporting facilities. Learn More Here

    The Grants for Buses and Bus Facilities Competitive Program (49 U.S.C. 5339(b)) makes federal resources available to states and direct recipients to replace, rehabilitate and purchase buses and related equipment and to construct bus-related facilities, including technological changes or innovations to modify low or no emission vehicles or facilities.   • The Department of Energy (DOE) announced $15 million in new funding for projects that will advance deployment of technologies critical to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions in the transportation sector. The funding will drive innovation in equitable clean transportation and is aligned with strategies detailed in the U.S. National Blueprint for Transportation Decarbonization.

    Topic areas include:

    • Clean Cities Outreach, Engagement, and Technical Assistance

    • Training on Zero Emission Vehicle and Infrastructure Technologies for Critical Emergency Response Workers

  • The California Energy Commission (CEC) approved a $1.9 billion investment plan that accelerates progress on the state’s electric vehicle (EV) charging and hydrogen refueling goals. These investments will help deploy infrastructure for light, medium, and heavy-duty zero-emission vehicles (ZEV) across California, creating the most extensive charging and hydrogen refueling network in the country.
