Fleet Technical Assistance

ProspectSV worked with and built a network of over 20 local agencies, including cities, counties, and community colleges, and provided technical assistance packages to aid fleet electrification. Technical assistance ranged from:

  • An assessment of current fleet characteristics and functional needs, including a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis for the current fleet and viable EV alternatives

  • Identifying available charging systems and planning assistance for charging infrastructure (e.g., DC Fast Charging, etc.)

  • A map of available incentives, public contracts and other procurement support resources

  • Fleet electrification technical support including sharing vendors, systems, and tools

Key Highlights

EV Initiatives for Schools

To amplify results from case studies for Twin Rivers Unified School District and Bakersfield City School District, ProspectSV, and ZNE Alliance developed Technical Assistance (TA) Work Packages for EV-Fleets to offer to other school districts. After consulting with a school district on its specific needs, the team modified the work package into a detailed proposal.

The school districts supported by this targeted TA include Morgan Hill Unified School District, Cabrillo Unified School District, Mountain View Whisman School District, Mt. San Antonio College, Contra Costa Community College District, and San Mateo County Community College District.

EV Initiatives for Local Governments

The project team addressed key barriers through various Technical Assistance including: creating a templated, comprehensive, and customizable E-Fleet Transition Plan for early stages of electrification to find the most cost-efficient approach to providing a “head start” to electrification, sharing site assessment strategies and resources that enable planning and deployment of cost-efficient infrastructure upgrades for short and long term needs, outlining grants and incentives in a comprehensive online resource, and crafting policy frameworks and templates to help align climate/sustainability goals and fleet policies.

We provided EV-Fleet Technical Assistance to several cities and counties, including the following cities: Fremont, La Mesa, Sonoma, Watsonville, and Richmond and the counties: Contra Costa and Santa Cruz.
